Project SkyPower welcomes Airbus to strengthen Europe's push towards e-SAF leadership

Project SkyPower proudly welcomes Airbus, Europe’s largest aerospace company, as its newest member joining 14 other CEOs on our mission to make e-SAF a commercial reality

With its deep aviation expertise and history of innovation, Airbus is a powerful partner in supporting our mission to make e-SAF a commercial reality this decade.

As Christian Scherer, CEO of Commercial Aircraft at Airbus, joins our coalition of 15 CEOs, the message is clear: the European aviation sector is united in scaling e-SAF and cutting emissions while staying globally competitive.

With Final Investment Decisions of the first large-scale e-SAF projects required by the end of this year, industry collaboration is critical. In 2025, Project SkyPower is focused on five key priorities: ensuring regulatory certainty, securing public funding commitments, getting long-term offtake agreements in place, de-risking first-of-a-kind projects and unlocking finance. Such measures are essential to meet the e-SAF sub-mandates under ReFuelEU Aviation, starting from 2030. Airbus’s support strengthens our push towards these critical objectives.

Backed by 40+ members, Project SkyPower is laying the groundwork for a competitive e-SAF sector.
